Wow... you landed one Western PA linebacker... how is this any different from existing trends? WVU has always used Western PA as one of its primary hunting grounds since there's no football players actually native to WV.
Btw CT... you should post a thread about Huggins landing ousted Duquesne coach Ron Everhart (Fairmont native) as an assistant!
Do you ever have something positive to say, or are you primarily a troll here to stir up crap? We just signed an excellent PA prospect who had offers from two prominent PA colleges. That's positive news, and it just might be related to our being in a better conference. I have a hunch we are going to be beating the pants off of Pitt in lots of ways in the coming years. For one thing, our athletic budget will be $15 million per year bigger than theirs. For another, we will be playing in a real football conference.
Everhart said sitting at his new desk looking out at the $35 million practice facility West Virginia has makes him feel pretty good about his new situation and he’s grateful for the opportunity to work alongside a future Hall of Famer in Head Coach Bob Huggins.
The 2 best leagues; Big 12 and SEC announce a bowl between themselves increasing the prestige of the Big 12
Quote:
It might not be the start of Armageddon in college football, but Friday's announcement that the Big 12 and SEC are forming a partnership, which would pit their champions in a future New Year's Day bowl game, has sent even more conference realignment ripples throughout the sport.
Nick Saban and the Tide are just the latest success story from the SEC.
Some industry insiders suggested Friday that the Big 12 and SEC are only protecting themselves in case the sport is eventually reduced to four power conferences. Given the current state of the Big East, further contraction to four megaconferences seems more possible than ever before.
This deal also will destroy the ACC and Big E in football.
WVU is setup to be leader of a conference that could challenge the SEC. One year ago there was uncertainty to WVU's fate, but now WVU is the most prestigious and best off former Big E member.
Morgantown WV, WVU, and the Mountaineers will now be known in every football loving household in the US and the world.
WVU are going to be America's team, for college football. Who doesnt love a team that plays with heart and skill, pulling upset after upset against better teams. Soon wearing a WVU shirt will earn you respect and friends anywhere in the country.
