Has the downtown scene improved any? I heard tin 202 lost its liquor license, how did that happen?.. I will say I went to von blaze after a basketball game this year and it was amazing. Otherwise didn’t get to explore the rest of high street much cause I had to get back to Charleston. I’ve always been a little surprised that WVU hasn’t been able to help manage the downtown area better than it has but hopefully with the population continuing to increase the high street area will improve. One can only hope.
Anyone living in Morgantown know if they’ve started renovations on Warner theater on high street?
I haven't seen any work happening since the announcement. There was some work happening on the roof several months ago, seemingly just to stabilize the situation, not necessarily getting it done.
I heard Morgantown brewing company is closing their doors, sad day.. Hopefully someone comes in and finds good use for that place bc it’s a nice space
Reading some of the comments on the MBC Facebook page, some are insinuating that the current owners are being a bit disingenuous with this closing announcement. It sounds like ownership is reverting back to the previous owner, they are closing for renovations and then reopening. A couple of people are even accusing the current owners of scare tactics to generate a cash grab essentially before they lose control of the business. I guess time will tell.
As to Morgantown Brewing Company, it appears that TBailey is correct. My sources in the craft beer community are saying the same thing, that ownership is reverting to the previous owner. Their Facebook posts make it sound like the company is closing forever.
My question is why did ownership revert back. It’s my understanding that the previous MBC owner also owns the building. It just doesn’t make sense.
