We have an online savings account with ING (started about 6 years ago when they were paying 3.5% on cash....not any more!). We're in the market for a mortgage and just curious to hear any experiences.
Thanks

I dont have any knowledge of ING but doesn't really matter these days who your mortgage originates from. The mortgage will be sold immediately to fannie/freddie and the servicing could be sold at any point.

Most of online mortgage companies do sell to fannie/freddie. But some local banks will keep loan pro-folio in house or sell to private investors.

But I believe these days fannie/freddie/usda/fha etc make up close to 90% of all loan porfolios owned by US govt.
