I am in the process of getting a divorce. Together we are purchasing a house which will be up for sale soon. Can I qualify for a USDA loan before this house sells and before our divorce is final. My income is 70,000. Our combined income on our taxes forms will include his income this filing year. I will have custody of our child and no child support. I have found a house that I want and it is in an area that qualifies for USDA. I also expect we will make nothing on the house that sells. We should just break even.

You cannot obtain Approval until the divorce is final and the Final Divorce Decree is reviewed by underwriting.
