You obviously need a lesson in being polite, and not think everyone is lying. I wrote that you should wait before the news comes out, but you continue to persist that I'm lying. You started accusing here so dont act like a victim.
There are a lot of things you dont know, and maybe a reason why dont you know! A lot of mortgage professionals speak about the companies going out of business, and know that some companies are goofing up.
What is the number that you called?

I'm stating that I find it hard to believe that 500+ people can get laid off, that a major company can move or close their corporate headquarters while still posting new job positions, without making some type of press releases or making the news.
Your accusing me of not calling an 800#, I provided this number to you.. did you call?
Many investment companies go through IPO's all the time and become stock holders in the new companies that are formed. Numerous times this results in mis-information as employees loser their jobs who work for the investment companies and people always assume, (no, this isnt the first time) that those at their subsidiaries have lost their job when in reality they havent.
Never did I accuse you of lying, I questioned your facts and questioned why a company, with 500+ employees losing their jobs (30%), someone didnt write a story about it, why I havent seen a press release about it, and why I havent seen legally required disclosers made. Questioning and accusations are a huge difference.
Assuming that Charlotte is gone, out of business, doors closed.. Where is the new corporate office of lendingtree then?

Here is a story from May, with 440 people being laid off from Lendingtree.. HUGE news story.. but now 500+ employees, including the WHOLE corporate office is gone, and not a peep?
Mortgage Insider » Blog Archive » LendingTree lays off 20% of 2,200 workers - OCRegister.com
Where is the CEO working from, his home also?

You just posted the 800 number....YOU EDITED THE POST.
Like I said my friends from LTL have told me this.
Doesn't make sense that they will layoff even 200 loan officers, underwriters, processors, etc...and not even mention it on the news or newspaper.
Customer care did confirm that there are only a 'few' loan officers left at the loan office.

I agree.. I questioned facts, and questioned why it was not anywhere other then forums on the internet, ironically with only two people talking about it on the internet, whats wrong with questioning accuracy of a potentially false story?
.. your the one making accusations..

out of fear of me being accused of editing my post..
The topic of this forum is.. "LENDING TREE CLOSES"..
It does not say, LENDING TREE LAYS OFF LOAN OFFICERS..
Perhapse the title is wrong.. but one second, they are closing.. next minute, only so many people were laid off from certain divisions.. So me questioning the facts has downplayed the "SHOCK" of Lending tree closing to something more reasonable.. some people lost their jobs.. not the whole company.

You know.. I'm not trying to "argue" with you, just trying to get the true facts..
Lendingtree "CLOSING" is a HUGE story
Lendingtree moving its coprorate offices, is a HUGE story
Lendingtree laying off a few hundred employees though, fairly predictible in todays market and not such a big story..

If you had read the entire post you would see that "LendingTree Loans (LTL)" and "LendingTree" are two different things. LendingTree is the parent company of LTL. LentdingTree aggregates leads, LTL originates loans.

IAC is being downsized, lendingtree might be downsized.. but if they were to start closing.. IAC is legally obligated to disclose this information publicly to their stockholders, prior to taking action, and this would include closing of regional offces of its subsidaries (i.e. lendingtree). As of now, IAC has stated nothing of closing branches.. they have stated that lendingtree is being spun off.

Again, you are calling LendingTree, not LendingTree Loans. the # for LTL is (888) 866-1212. Try to reach an operator...It says all representatives are unable to assist you at this time. LTL had operators available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I am sure you can still get a hold of people at LendingTree. The whole purpose of my original post was to establish the difference between LTL and its parent company LendingTree. LTL is basically a branch of Home Loan Center which was bought by LendingTree so that they could originate mortgage loans. Go back and re-read my original post on page 3 of this thread.
