I'm not sure how this makes me an idiot... I never disputed any of this. In my posts I actually said that HLC was owned by LendingTree LLC...so where is the disconnect?
I also never said that LTL didn't close. I lost my job Friday too. I think maybe you have mis-interpreted something I said, but I'm not sure what.
As for emailing you outside of here. I'm not sure who you are, but I'd rather not lose my severance if you are actually still working for LT.

I was on the team that was the test pilot to see if purchasing a lender was a good idea, I was with LT when IAC purchased them, I was with LT when they were pushed back out, I was with them at 1:40 PM yesterday to hear the wonderful news.

FACTS ABOUT LENDINGTREE LOANS!
A lot of misunderstanding in this thread. Let me help clear things up a little bit. LendingTree Loans laid off 220 people just a few weeks ago. I currently work for LendingTree Loans at the PRIME REFINANCE department. We still have 3 teams of about 15 to 20 loan officers and 2 team of about 10-15 processor. LendingTree Loan is not closed "YET". I am not too sure what our future hold, but as of right now, we're still open for business and originating loans. IAC, whom is our father company is cutting us loose in March of 2008. LendingTree Loans will be a public company starting the first quarter of 2008. LendingTree Loans in NC has been shut down due to PERFORMANCE reason. They kept a few people in NC because of licensing reason. Irvine LTL out perform the NC LTL by far so we're still around.
I repeat, I currently WORK for LendingTree Loans in Irvine, CA. LendingTree Loans and LendingTree, LLC are two different things. I also worked for LendingTree, LCC before. I got a promotion to be a loan officer at LendingTree Loans.
Hope that cleared things up for you guys.

Actually, no it doesn't clarify anything
No one is disputing Irvine is open Nameless. LendingTree Loans will be owned by LendingTree LLC which will be spun off from the mothership, IAC. LendingTree Loans will not be public. Why? You're not big enough, you don't meet the standards to go public. You could trade on the Pink Sheets but that's about it. LendingTree LLC can go public however as they did before they were bought up by IAC. I worked on LTL Purchase in Charlotte, and at least we went out on top. I left the co. in August then came back, and we really finally got a push going in Nov-Dec. We were beating you all! We were ahead of Synergy, The Firm, and I can't remember all the other names. Anyway, who cares. This has actually been a blessing. I worked for the Tree for a long time and guess what? It pushed me out there, forced me to find something else and MAN is it BETTER! And I never would have done this if it weren't for them letting me go. I was mad at first, but I will make so much more money and I will work literally 1/3 less hours as well. My advice: get out of that sweatshop, there are much BETTER options out there! Matter of fact, if they ever called me to come back once things get back on track, I'd say SHOVE IT!!!!! Go find some other sucker.

that's funny that Irvine was doing better than Charlotte.
I guess he doesnt hangout with the top execs there...
When I was at LTL...we used to see the numbers...and Irvine always had the most exceptions. Plus, it was really expensive doing business in Irvine.

I was thinking something similar based upon assumptions that Charlotte is primarily known as a banking city and California is known of course for the high costs of doing business.
Do you think that might have anything to do with higher priced values of homes out West? Dont know here, just asking out of curiousity, not sure how LTL did accounting.

UPALLNITE
I am glad to hear you're doing much better elsewhere. As for me, I am being recruited by FARMERS to be their insurance Agent. I am definitely trying to open a small business myself, so venturing into that field will put me where I want to be. Mortgage will not be how it use to be 4 years ago.
From my understanding IRVINE division out perform Charlotte and that is why we're still around even though we're more expensive to operate. Now, don't take that as me trying to downsize the talents in Charlotte. It came from upper management and they clearly stated that to us. Was it to motivate us? Who knows...
