Any recommendations? We're looking to refi quick, at least get things started. We're with Countrywide and having the same problem many others are having with them. Thanks!

You can walk into any local bank!
Or if you want a pretty good offer then try a broker.

Thank you! Yeah I'm partial to mortgage brokers over banks.

I was happy with National City Mortgage - http://www.nationalcitymortgage.com/. They might not be the least expensive around, but provide good service. They certainly helped me in a situation they really weren't obligated to do so.

As I was getting ready to purchase recently I shopped heavily for mortgages. I spoke to numerous brokers, banks and direct lenders. Finally the best deal and service came from Wells Fargo directly. I'd look into it.

I went with a local broker; however, I found a lender who would give me the same rate w/$400 less in closing costs and seven days to close. I already started with the other guy and have to close earlier than that, so I couldn't do it. I talked to at least ten other companies that couldn't beat the deal. DM me and I can send you the name/number.

remember that most lenders will say they can....but what happens at the closing table is another story!
if they say they can close in 7days....i say i can close in 3 lol.
remember approving your loan is 1thing.
getting an appraisal done can take days.
getting the seller/buyer to work at the same time frame with the attorney may also take days.
If it's a refinance......and THEIR costs are lower than a brokers...I really doubt they can do it in 7days. If my costs were lower than everyone else's then I would have so much business....I wouldnt be able to close soo soon.
This is what happened with one of the preferred lenders that broker use.
They offered one of the best rates...and all the brokers swarmed to them.
They offered 24-48 hrs turnaround time...then it turned into 5-7days.
be careful with the sales pitches!
