We bought our house with a guaranteed loan and used a broker. He asked us questions and then sent us a big packet of papers to sign. So we answered questions over the phone and had to fax over about a hundred documents (or so it seemed!), but that company filled out all of the paperwork and just had us check it and initial/sign it all.

If you're trying to get a guaranteed loan, you should call a broker who works with USDA loans.

Ask your agent for a recommendation and set up an appointment and bring your paperwork.
