That is all so weird. Why are they looking at income for 2-3 years ago. What difference does it make what you made then? I have a client doing a USDA now, and their past income means nothing. Please keep us updated. I am very curious as to why this is happening.
We almost got into a situation where we "made too much" somehow, we were able to get it all worked out with our lender. I find this all very odd and I really hope you get answers and keep us posted. We went through what was a very long roller coaster ride, it will all work out for you I'm sure of it.

Often when working with government backed loans that have maximum income limits, they will use projected income. In this case they are thinking, well if she made that much before, she could do it again and that might mean the borrower makes too much to qualify.
I'm so sorry this happened to your family. I'm someone who is on the other end always an issue to qualify because of a single income household. Hopefully, you find a new mortgage product and can keep moving forward.

Since it all happened seven years ago, they probably have solved the mortgage issue by now.
