Lender question
We found an awesome Lender here in Florida.
Gave us a great rate, etc. when we were to purchase a home here.
But now we may be going to NC.
Here's my question...can we use him for a home closing in NC?
He doesn't have to be there, right?
I've only closed on 2 homes in the past and I can't remember a thing.
Thanks.

NC has stricter laws than other states....He will need to be licensed here in NC.
You can verify his license at https://www.nccob.org/online/LicenseSearch.aspx
In FL you can use a title company to do the closing....here in NC you will need an attorney. The attorney is usually referred by the realtor.

As long as that lender is licensed to lend in NC you can use him.

Follow up question...
If you have a family member who is a mortgage BROKER, can they work on your behalf and locate a loan for you from an NC-licensed bank/lender? Or does a broker have to also be licensed somehow in North Carolina?
