My husband and I have been pre-approved through a mortgage company, we have put an offer in on a house and it has been accepted. It's been appraised and we are supposed to close on this home in a little over a week. The mortgage company contacted me today asking for my utility bills, I do have a good qualifying credit score however I don't have a long credit history which is why I assume they're asking for this. The electric and water are both in my name however I have been late a few times paying them. I've never been anywhere near 30 days late on any payments though and my utilities have never been cut off. My mortgage company told me that they would have to see what the RHS office comes back with. I was just wondering if anyone had any insight on how this could affect my chances? Thank you.
In the world of mortgages, the measuring stick is 30 days past due. If you are borderline, though, it's a human call. See if you can print out your own 12 month payment history and see what that looks like. Turn it in if it looks halfway decent. I think as long as there are no skipped payments, you should be good.
Thank you and I sure hope so! I have been losing sleep over this, probably going to have a dang heart attack before this is all over with lol.
