Default What is the survey.

Me and my husband are buying a house and i was reading thru the contract. It was asking for a survey that is needed 10 days after we sign the contract.

Can someone please give us information on how to go about doing a survey for the home and how much does it cost.

Thanks

It is like a map that shows the boundaries of your property. We have our closing next week and have just ordered ours. You can have it ordered from a closing firm. I am paying about 300 dollars for it.

Thanks for replying. Does the survey detail the actual sq ft of the home?

Is the survey the same as the inspection?

Thanks

An inspection checks out the house for things that might be wrong on the property such as roof, structural damage, wet basement. The survey will tell you where your property begins and ends and will show you where the house is is relation to that. My survey did not give room sizes but I think the person reading it should be able to see the perimeter of the house. My survey also showed where the water and oil plumbing lines were as well as had the driveway sketched out.

No. But you can deduce it from it as it has exterior dimensions.

No.
