We are getting ready to look for a loan for our new house in the Bay area. Does anyone know who has the best rates and is legit?

Whoever may charge the best rates may have the highest fees...

Everything will vary on your credit score, down payment, loan amount, debt to income, assets, etc.

Although rates are thrown around loosely they depend on a multitude of factors, like previously stated and more.

Find yourself a good mortgage broker to work with you. Perhaps friends or family can refer someone?
