Default Should I take a home equity with current lender or through another?

Is there a real benefit to going through my current lender?

Generally not any pluses, especially in this environment. Time was HELOC were hot items for lenders to capture more business, now defaults have forced lenders to to scale back their exposure.

The only thing that matters right now on a HELOC is tons (and I mean TONS) of patience.

The big boys are seriously backlogged and have a black hole mentality, so if you are in a hurry, apply sooner than later.

Another recommendation in this market is a credit union if you belong to one.
