I was working overseas, and was paying my EX - wife payments for our house, but she did not make payments, so I had a home foreclosed on in 2001. It was a VA loan, and I owe the VA approx $29,000. Would I still be able to apply for a FHA loan, or would the FHA find out I owe the VA and deny the loan?

Yes, FHA would find out that you owe VA.

If you haven't made mortgage payments on a VA loan, you will not be getting an FHA or any other type of mortgage loan in the near future.
