Default VA Loan Question---Please help!!!!

Ok so the situation is I want to move to the Phoenix area to be closer to my family. My husband is active duty AF and we are currently overseas. Our assignment here will end sometime this year...We are trying to get Luke AFB as our next assignment, but if that doesn't work out my dh is going to do a remote assignment so that we can get a base of preference (which would be Luke AFB). My question is does he need to be living in AZ to buy a house for our family under the VA loan? If he is overseas, obviously his work address would not be in close proximity to the property, so now I'm wondering if this would be a problem....Anyone with any insight, please chime in!!!

Occupancy by a spouse satisfies the occupancy requirement for a VA loan if the veteran is active duty and cannot occupy the residence in a reasonable time. The cost of maintaining seperate living arrangements will be factored into underwriting, but you should be ok.

that's great because if he does a remote assignment, he will be living in the dorms (no rent, etc.). thank you for the quick response! now i can go to bed ;P.
