Sounds like you might be the type to enjoy the new retro styled Triumph Bonneville.

It does everything well (for a standard bike) and is very forgiving.

Just before I got some kind of plague (nearly dibilitating foot and hand pain and weekness) this spring I had good time riding the Kawasaurus Rex. I said I would not buy an antique or a superbike. A 1980 qualifies for both. It was a matter of desire over sense.

I really don't want to sell this bike but I may have to if the therapy does not work. PM if you are interested in a good runing, decent handling, tall, heavy but very, very quick motorcycle. I have about 4k into it but am willing to dicker.

If you are referring to the GPZ1100...

Heaven forbid, far too much ground clearance.

The last bike that I raced:

Mid life if I live to be 114 years of age. Highly doubtful.

ovcatto: Not the same bike. GregW is the owner of a 1980 Kawasaki 1300, a huge liquid-cooled...well...Kawasaurus. I remember them well. They made my Yamaha XS1100 look like a moped.
