I have a Kymco Xciting250. It rides pretty good, and it'll cruise at 60mph easily, but you can tell around 65mph starts pushing it. I'm sure the 500cc version would be better, but also heavier. I just use mine around town so it's really all I need. My only complaint is that it's very hard to start below about 35 degrees.

I'd like to have a Honda Forza, but they're still pretty new and I refuse to pay new prices. Maybe in another year or two.

::checks out model::

Huh. Guess that replaces the Helix and - especially - the Reflex, adding a few more cc's.

my 400cc 2 stroke dirt bike would do 90-100MPH before hitting the rev limiter

Most 400+ cc scooters will go fast enough to scare you as well as get you really damaged in a get off so wear a helmet and decent boots. The rest is optional.

Depends what you're used to.

Scoots are usually pretty relaxed engine-wise, plus they weigh a lot. Your 650 isn't really any faster than my Ninja 250. It does have a lot more torque. Then again, a little 250 Ninjette is about as fast around town as a V6 family sedan, so it's not like it's really lacking except at altitude trying to go up a mountain. Speed also feels a lot faster on two wheels than in a car. But if you're used to things that aren't slower than a Camry, it isn't going to scare you.

I'm planning to buy my first scooter and have no idea what to buy. I need something that will maintain interstate speeds comfortably & has good cargo space. I will have both a box and windshield mounted before I roll off the floor. I'm thinking along the lines of at least 300cc but I am unfamiliar with names of makes and models out there.
Anyone awake out there that can provide some feedback?

A used Burgman 400 will do all of this. In my opinion, the mini-van of commuter bikes, the best there is for all-around utility. You can fit two grocery bags under the seat, easily. I had my Burgman to 80 on I-95 before, had more to go, but wasn't necessary, so I dont know the top speed, but it will do freeway. That new Honda 300 and the Kymco 300's are pretty nice too, but the Kymco is very small.
Smoking a bro-dood on an 883 Sportster with a couple bags of groceries is always a humorous moment

Are they really that expensive? You can buy a real motorcycle for less.

ETA, just went on the Zuk site, holy crap these things are expensive. MSRP $8k for th 400 and $11k for the 650! IMHO, buy a V-Strom 650 (msrp $8400). A whole lot more for less money, unless you have your heart set on a scoot.

I used to have a Yamaha 360 and it would top out at about 90. I wish I had it back it was a neat looking bike.
