Is this motorcycle worth 25,000? 2008 Yamaha Raider that has been customized.

This owner of the motorcycle said that Progressive insurance said the motorcycle is worth 50,000 dollars. It's been insured for 50,000.

I'm sure it has. I guess the insurance agent would be happy to sell him a policy for a $100K bike with the premiums to match if he thought he could get away with it.

Write it off, and it's still an '08 Raider worth under $10K.

They do it with cars all the time. Used custom parts are not worth that much .I dont care what the guy who bought them says.25k for that bike? NO. Even if it were a Harley it wouldn't be worth that

This friend is going to sell this motorcycle to his local Yamaha dealer. I just wonder how much money he will get?

Not to be negative, but he is going to be severely disappointed.
If he were to get 17,000, I would be truly shocked. I've been riding-horse trading motorcycles for 40 years and there are only a few bikes that will get anywhere near what you paid for them or more. Yamaha is not one of them unless maybe it is an old RD400
It is my hope that you will post back and tell me Im wrong after he sells it, though

His local Yamaha dealer told him a used 08 Raider sells for 9,000 dollars and he doesn't know if he is going to sell it now. Will have to wait and see.

Had a 1978 RD400....First street bike, lots of fun.. actually had one drive by me a few weeks back, don't get to hear the 2-strokes much anymore, not even in the dirt......
oh and I would'nt give 9k for the bike in question, but that's my money not yours.

While it is a nice bike, and mildly customized, it is certainly not worth $25,000. My son just purchased a 2010 Raider S, heavily customized, with low miles, for $9,000.00.

Not sure what the seller of this bike thinks he has.
