I wouldn't pay that much for that bike, but it isn't my kind of bike. Besides, I don't have $25K to blow on a bike. I always thought customizing was something one should do himself as much as possible.
Highly doubt it's worth 25k, the bike itself is worth a fraction of that and customizing is done to fit the style of an individual. A bike signed by a professional sports team is more a collector item than a bike, and it'll most likely live it's life traded between owners who enjoy the franchise or find the signatures valuable. Do the Kings have any rockstar players that you think will be worth big $$ in the coming years? Even if they are, i doubt you'll be recouping the 25 large that they want for the motorcycle.
My personal take on vehicle customization is that unless the vehicle has been customized for a specific use (A full fledged race car, off-road vehicle, or a one off custom) they're typically not worth as much customized as they are unmolested from the factory. If they do retain their value, the price of the customization will typically not be returned in the resale...and more than anything, it's a used bike. Unless you're just really into the team, and want it for a "show" piece, i'd spend my $$ on an original that could be had for a minimum of 10k cheaper. As stated, that's a USED bike.
The owner of this motorcycle bought it on ebay about three years ago. The owner will have sell it on ebay because he not having any luck selling it in Tennessee.
The bike in stock condition would be worth $8-$9K, i'm not seeing it worth $20K just because the owner bolted some custom parts on it. Also customized bike like this one are very hard to sell as they reflect the individual owner.I also wonder about those straight pipes which usually require air and fuel flow adjustments to compensate for the lack of back pressure, not to mention the hideous noise a Japanese V twin makes with straight pipes. .
If you really like the bike offer him $8K and be prepared to go to $10K max.
Yes its worth it but not if your going to ride it. the raider is one bad ass bike make no mistake stock it eats any HD and any other bike of its kind for that matter. Look into it it hold 1/4 mile records!!!! While it isn't a TRUE custom bike go to a Yamaha raider forum and look at what others have done. Stock ti is worth around 10 to 12. It would be worth less if it had more miles but this bike hasn't been risen. They hold there value.
NADA Guides show a 2008 Raider in great condition with custom pipes at around $10,150. Add another $300 for custom seat and round it to $10,500.
How much the custom wheels worth? Regardless of what they claim, stock rims are fine for 99% of the people so unless you are a huge King's fan, paying more than $13K (tops) seems irrational to me.
They are adding in the insanely costly custom paint job to the price like it is a real value.
Brand new Raider cost $15,600, more advanced, 0 miles and has warranty!
I much rather get a few year old Raider then get the mods that I might care to have which would probably cost less than $500 (windshield, custom seat).
I like Yamaha/Raider bikes but I feel they are generally overpriced compared to other bike makes.
