Most of us are courteous. In the truck, through the neighborhoods, its light throttle. Most of us do this. But, since there is a bunch who dont, people attack the whole crowd.

While bikes with loud pipes are a bit of an inconvenience they arent that much of a problem as they quickly drive past and they're gone . its the bikers themselves who have to endure that racket all day
Whats more irritating is spending whats supposed to be a peaceful weekend at the country place up at the lake where instead of a peaceful getaway its non stop chain saws, weed whackers, leaf blowers, lawn mowers, power saws, hammering and banging and the ubiquitous dozen jet skiis tearing up and down the lake all weekend.I guess the inconvenience of the noise is a matter of perspective.

Except losing sleep is exactly the problem if the loud stuff is at the wrong time.

I have aftermarket exhausts on all of my motorcycles from my 250 up to my literbikes. I really don't care. In the neighborhood, I keep it in low rev. Never had an issue.

We've seen plenty of citizens attempting to take a stand against loud motorcycles, even creating activist groups like mecalm.org. This is a bad idea. You a. dealing with a culture that is inherently rebellious and fairly familiar with being disliked. The more we complain about loud exhausts and obnoxious motorcycles, the more riders will modify their pipes. They will do it to spite you. Some riders are tricked into believing that loud pipes save lives, others want attention, and some may just like the way their bikes sound... but the majority are seeking attention and counteracting those who complain about loud exhausts. By forming these groups, constantly speaking out about it, looking bikers directions, giving them dirty looks, etc, you are giving them both attention and a reason to annoy you (because they know it pisses you off... rebellious nature). Best form of action? Just ignore them... you'll see a change. Same goes for loud cars.

Not trying to start a debate. I'm obviously a motorcyclist myself and a huge advocate of incentives for riders (lane splitting, hov lanes, etc)... Just jaded from hearing people constantly complain about motorcycles and getting nowhere.

That - has always been the way of the world. Most of us learned that lesson around the 3rd grade.

Fail.

I have never seen a biker do that. Not once. If I have one (or several) pulling up to pass me on the Interstate, and I have my windows up and basically ignore them, I have NEVER had a biker act POd about the fact that I'm just minding my own business.

And I know some guys who wear t-shirts and shorts all year long, in Minnesota. They'll even wear a parka, with shorts.

So what's the point?

I assume you know this because you've taken a close look at all their penises? Good for you!

We should limit the load exhausts to the Harleys.
