Really people who say " get a real bike" and than post a motorcycle link___ gets old.
How about people out there who are not like you and want to just roll the throttle and go. Some people like to not shift, have good storage under the seat and have multiple leg positions. Its not a simple concept to understand.
BTW, I have been riding motorcycles in the past for over 10 years. I quit and went to the scooter side, its just or more fun and actually more freedom feeling.
Any bike with a 2 wheels and a motor is a "real bike". Anyone that says different is uninformed or a snob. Not expected from a Kawi rider but usually from the motor company.
How is shifting gears annoying ? I had a scooter and hated not having gears, just sitting atop of a piece of plastic is all it felt like. No connection with the bike.
For one thing, on a scooter I like the fact that the left handlebar lever controls both brakes, rather than having to use my foot for the rear brake. It’s safer in an emergency to just squeeze that one lever and stop.

The xmax I think crushes the current 300 competition.
I have a 2015 Honda Forza, got it used recently. Its powerband without vibrations on the freeways is from 60-67 mph. Outside of that you can feel its taxing the motor and slight vibes are felt, thats not great for a 278cc motor.
The new Kymco xtown 300 is the same from a review I read.
The xmax has no such reports of being " taxed" at higher speeds. If it fits you and I think its made for 5 10 and up it should be one heck of a ride.

I have the Kymco Xciting 250, and it can do 65mph easily, but any more than that is pushing it. It sounds like the extra 50cc on the newer ones didn’t really help much.

Mid size scoots are the best. Motor is not strained for most roads. Here is my Forza, its best 60-67 mph or so. after that you feel some vibes. I rather just stay in that mph range and make the motor last.
Why are Service intervals in the UK 6000 miles while service intervals in the USA are 4000 miles? Aren't the bikes the same product? Is Yamaha USA trying to rip us off? Honda Forza has 8000 mile service intervals in both countries.

we have different fuels, and we are using differently. I believe UK they are used for long distance highway spurts. America, small stop and go situations. think that plays any effect? cruising vs stop and goes paired with fueling
