Motorcycle tail lights on cars (and vice versa)? (road)

This is a question for curiosity's sake. I consider it a positive experience to know more about the strange laws of the road.
Are there any laws prohibiting the installation of the usually smaller tail lights of motorcycles onto cars?
And (assuming that they would fit safely) can the tail lights of cars be installed onto motorcycles?
I don't think there is any law saying you can't do what you are saying. But there are laws in the placement, number of lights, and amount of illumination that the lights must produce. Put whatever you want on, as long as it meets the standards of the law.
