A Buddy of mine had a small trailer he pulled behind his Ultra in 2007 when it was new and in fact the dealer installed the hitch, both the bike and trailer were a good combination until he took the bike into the dealer for warranty service(also had extended warranty) and the dealer told him that pulling a trailer voided the warranty.Check that out frist to protect
your coverage.

The least expensive way is probably the harbor freight kit show last post page 1, and a car topper. You might get it all for under $300.00. That won't count a hitch and any dead short adapters you may want.

It depends on if you want fancy and matching the bike, or just want to take lots of stuff 2 up... I have nearly 20,000 miles in a single trip. My pics are not reduced sizes for here though.

I am having trouble imagining what it would do to the bike's handling.

We just calculated the income tax return and I am putting a bike back on the "to get" list.

We have pulled a cargo trailer to Nova Scotia, California, and Banff. I ride with people who have Bushtecs, Escapades and Hannigans. Most of us have Cyclemates. We have found it to be the very best bang for the buck. It isn't as cushy as the high dollar outfits but we are all happy with ours. Plus, I put two blocks under the rear bumper and store it in an upright position.

Thanks for the info. I must admit that when I first glanced at 'Cyclemates', I saw 'Cyclamates' () , which is a completely different matter (if you're under 50, you probably won't understand the reference)!

If the trailer is set up right, you will need to look in the mirrors to be sure it is still there. I ride a Nomad and can't feel the trailer unless I am backing up. A Nomad has no reverse.

Here s a link to a really large pic, I don't dare put on here. Total cost for brand new was around 370 bucko's. Not real pretty, but it's mine and I don't care much about pretty trailers.

I hope that works as photobucket is actting glitchy for the moment.

The only times I have felt my trailer is once I wanted to negotiate a sharp curve at the bottom of a steep hill. The trailer was more interested in going straight. Another time I was braking to a stop downhill in a rainstorm. I learned to allow for more braking time and slow it down a little going down hills. Other than that it has never been an issue.
