That's a true news.. ?? I don't think so. What you think about For Colored Girls movie.. Are you interested to watch For Colored Girls movie ...Are you eagerly waiting for this movie or not??
Why does every billboard in Los Angeles that advertises the film show a Black woman? The billboards themselves seem a little xenophobic and intolerant to me as they lack diversity.
Why does every billboard of The social network, Easy A, Jackass 3D, Paranormal Activity 2, Secretariat ans just about every other movie out right now shows a White person?

I'm not a big mainstream movie fan, but the posters I've seen for The Social Network show somebody of Jewish heritage, not White. As for Secretariat, the horse is brown (possibly Latino horse?). As for Paranormal Activity 2, can anybody really be sure what ethnicity the ghost is?
What if I made a movie called "For White Girls"? Would it be as openly accepted and celebrated as this new movie seems to be? Just saying....
Obviously you haven't bothered to read the posts, this was adressed already. Refer to NatashaH's post. Dare I say it - you're being just a tad over sensitive and melodramatic. I am not a person of color but I would argue that all mainstream movies are "for white [people]"

I'm going to watch it & I'm a black girl.
However, the title irks me. I know it's based off of the play but the title "For Colored Girls" seems extremely alienating & I don't like how TP decided to use the 3 opening lines in the movie. I can appreciate TP, but I doubt this film will do well, if anything based on the title alone.
I think they should have titled it "When The Rainbow is Enuf", for me that is less controversial than "For Colored Girls" and would draw my attention moreso.
But, alas...I never win. LOL.
