Johnny Depp was just in Aurora, Il (our adjacent town) filming a movie. I don't recall what the name of it is.

We can claim that classic film Maria's Lovers w/Robert Mitchum. Filmed on location in Brownsville and California Pennsylvania. What, you didn't see that one?

We can also lay claim to a couple minor scenes from Act Of Vengeance w/Charles Bronson.

Parts of Robocop were filmed at a former steel mill in Monessen, right down the river.

That's our contribution to the legacy of film.

They are also filming scenes in the same Crown Point Indiana jail that Dillinger escaped from.

We are always having something being filmed in Union County, NC, but the only one I personally saw being filmed was one scene from "The Color Purple."

Portions of "Nell" were filmed in Charlotte because I recognized the buildings when I saw the movie.

Portions of "Dirty Dancing" were filmed on our timeshare property in Lake Lure and other parts of Lake Lure.

Scenes from "Thunder Road" were filmed in Wilkes County.

Wish I could remember all the rest of the movies I know about being filmed in our area, but my memory fails me. We are beginning to not even notice when someone is filming around here. We just say, "Oh, they are filming another movie," and just drive on.

"Navy Seals" was filmed here in Virginia Beach.

A lot of movies, especially political films, are filmed at Langley and in Northern VA/DC area too. I've also heard that "Hearts in Atlantis" was filmed here, but I've never been able to confirm that.
