Yes I do, otherwise I don't think I'd see a movie all year long and miss a lot of good stuff.

Speaking of high horse...if anyone goes to a movie against one's values and ideology, a great remedy is to run to the nearest evangelical church to hear the ideology that only white, anti-intellectual, conservative christians re right about everything all the time, and that all other people and ideologies are just scum.

This, and the fact that most films today are trash, is why my movie attendence in recent times is down to perhaps one or two films a year, rarely as many as three. To address the OP, yes, this factor does influence my film selection. As a history buff, it is almost impossible for me to enjoy a historical film, because it is virtually certain to be historically incorrect and loaded with revisionism. Will take the old 1930's-1970's productions shown on the cable movie channels over the newer junk in which the computer programmers and model makers are the real stars instead of the actors.

I agree. That's why I so enjoyed "The King's Speech." I'm looking for accuracy more than anything.
I think the OP asked a simple question and shouldn't be put down for it. She didn't say whether she does the same or not, I don't think. Perhaps I missed it, though. I'm pretty tired.
But say that I were against the death penalty or communism, it would not stop me from watching a good movie about either subject. I want a movie that is done well and accurate. I welcome other points of view. Perhaps there is information that I am not aware of.
Like I said, I don't think that "W" would be funny. It's inaccurate and poking fun at a president that made a lot of mistakes during a very serious time in our history. I find that to be a waste of time even though I often disagreed with him and never voted for him.
