It's mediocre at best. It has been hyped by people trying to be overly highfalutin and pretentious in their perceived cinematic taste. See Idiocracy if you have not seen it -- now there's a good film.

Liked it. Didn't love it.

I appreciated the fact that it tried to be more than another SF action flick, that it was actually about something. But the allegory was a tad thick.

Definitely worth watching. Not sure it's worth watching twice.

I thought it was excellent. A very original plot-- perhaps one of the most original plots that has come out in a long time. It probably should have won the oscar for best picture over Avatar and Hurt Locker (which was horrible).

It got a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Try watching it with the director's commentary on. It's a hoot.

Personally I didn't understand the hype. It's shot like a reality show i.e. shaky camera, too much lighting, etc. The plot is stupid. It's about Crab people... seriously.

I loved it. It seemed like they are going to make a sequel to District 9, or at least I wish there was. It's one of the movies that could go on forever... Definitely not a bad movie.

It someone says it's bad then they must not know what a good movie is.
