Geena Davis was once an actress I liked at least she was pretty and good in some comedic movies. Heavy drama just isn't her thing and action... no. Samuel L. Jackson has a tendancy to do the same character over and over again and can get very annoying. He's good in a jerk kind of way, he makes a decent heavy. He's done some great movies early on but also some real bad ones. But even the greats have done bad movies.
The movie just came across as formulaic and clumsy with cardboard characters and wooden acting.
Bettlejuice! BettleJuice! Beetlejuice!
On a more serious note, what killed The Long Kiss Goodnight was the "not-so-bad" bad guy in it, Richard Bierko or whatever the heck his name is.
His acting was horrific, talk about wooden. The way he acted, his character didn't appear like a bad or evil guy or even a psychopath, just more like an annoying, douche bag.
SLJ was pretty good in that movie and so was GD. At least, so I thought.
I was up late one night a few months ago and was channel flipping when I caught the opening credits of a movie called "Heavenly Bodies". I watched it and it was horrible. Its apparently a Canadian ripoff of the movie "Flashdance", which was a movie I've never seen.
Anyways, it's about a group of women who own a fitness center and there's a rival fitness center across the street that bought their building as well. So, besides the main guy and girl in the movie falling in love, they have a televised "Dance-off" with their teams and whoever wins the dance-off gets to keep their gym/fitness center open while the others have to close theirs haha. So lame. But, the one good thing is the main girl in the movie, Cynthia Dale, was 24 in the movie and was absolutely gorgeous!! She was the reason I watched it all the way through lol.
No doubt about it. A friend dragged me to it (probably as a joke)...didn't know anything about it. Definitely not into a documentary about men in drag.
Left after about 45mins and sat in the lobby. It was far more interesting.
I don't think anybody (besides rabid Scientologists perhaps) would consider that to be a great film.
