I saw this yesterday, and I haven't laughed so hard in ages. It was funny, sweet, and a bit raunchy and gross at times. Kristen Wiig is great and she and Maya Rudolph give a great portrayal of a friendship between women.

Why do you refuse to go to theaters?

I heard the movie was really funny. New age funny though, whatever that means.

they over charge for everything - tickets, refreshments, people yammering during movie, people kicking chairs, cell phones going off, kids whining, etc

plus charging that kind of money to line the rich's already lined pockets? no thanks.. we'll line it just a fraction either renting or getting from netflix

there we can pause when we want and get refreshments for free

From what I have seen from the trailers it seems to portray women as just as foul and offensive as men can be. If that is what the story is about, no thanks. Too many nasty movies out there already.

There were a few parts that were a little over the top (they get food poisoning while they're trying on dresses, and there's a few cringey embarrassing scenes.) I wouldn't write it off as either a typical touchy-feely chick flick, nor is it a gross-out comedy. It's really a well-written sweet and funny movie. It's got an 89% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so I'm not the only one who thinks so.

It is by far the funniest movie I have seen since Hangover. But Fleet posted, it also has a sweet side.

It is a really good movie, I enjoyed it a great deal.

And for the record I am a guy

Hangover is MUCH better. While there are some really, LOL scenes, for the most part the main character is sad and pathetic. Her life is just one long "loser" incident after another. Some of the feamle characters are funny but over the top. I saw it with a friend of mine and her first comment as we were leaving was "It's not as funny as my friends said it was." I would still see it but just don't expect too much. It is very gross in parts, like having (TMI) diarrhea in a sink or in the street and puking in the toilet.
