I would have said Hugo Weaving in "The Interview", but I presume you meant American actors and pictures.

Foreign or domestic is fine. You narrowly escaped the verbal thrashing by way of calling it a tie for the 2 nominees.

That was a superb performance and would make my top five almost definitely. I loved "The King's Speech" but "A Single Man" was simply superlative and Colin Firth should have got the Oscar for that IMO. A movie that good only rarely sadly.
