I nominate for "best underrated performance":

Jimmy Stewart, "It's a Wonderful Life".

When I met James Stewart in the mid 70s in London, we mainly talked about
'Harvey' which he was doing on stage, he told me how he'd been too young to
play the character when he made the film. I mentioned how much I liked 'Its a
wonderful life'. He brightened at that and said how much he liked it as well. 'Full
of good moments' he said. He was a lovely man to talk to, very like his screen
persona. I also thanked him for his war service were much of it was spent in
England flying bombing missions over Germany. He was'nt just a brave man in films,
but also in real life, it was a pleasure and honour to meet him.

I have seen lots of movies in my life and also there are so many movies that i like from the bottom of my heart. The movie i am going to mention is not amongst the current movies, this is the oldie. "Titanic" is the movie in which i think Leonardo has done an absolutely marvelous job.

'Titanic' was spoiled for me. While I was standing in line, someone came out at the
end of the show and said "the ship sinks" - just ruined it for me..........
Seriously, I did'nt like it much. I was bored by much of the story until we got to
the nitty gritty when the ship starts to sink. I thought DeCaprio was'nt really very
good. I remember when we left the cinema saying to my wife it would have been a
great role for someone like Robert Redford or Steve McQueen when they were the
right age to play it. I felt the role needed someone with more charisma - although I
must admit DeCaprio has improved acting wise in recent years.

Daniel Day-Lewis: There Will Be Blood
Dustin Hoffman - Tootsie
Robert Duvall - Lonesome Dove
Robert Duvall - The Apostle
Robert Duvall - Slingblade. Says barely a word and still steals the scene.
Robert Deniro - Cape Fear. He epitomizes the word "Creepy."

While not very prolific, he is the greatest actor of his generation, IMO.
