That is funny, because almost everyone I know loves the Princess Bride, and people will always quote the lines from it. That was the attraction--the absolutely silliness of the dialogue. But I have one friend who didn't get it at all and says she really just didn't care for the movie. I'm not sure why--she's otherwise a person with a great sense of humor.

I have to give William Goldman 1000 points for writing a children's story that entertained so many adults and made them laugh.

Every Star Wars film, The Matrix, and Fight Club. Mind you, I wouldn't say I hate any of them, they just don't appeal to me.
