It is by looking at the beautiful natural imperfections of my favorite actors and actresses that I am also able to notice their wonderful acting skills.

Perfection is boring and overrated cookie cutter imo.

Initially in American having perfect teeth was our version of a class structure. I.e. you could tell whether someone was well off our not by whether they could afford dental care. The upper middle class and above got braces, and clean teeth and fillings. The lower classes did not. Since human beings everywhere pretty much strive to get to the next tier up perfect teeth was part of what meant you had made it - being able to afford braces etc. Sort of like accents in the UK.
Now it has become part of the bigger everybody must be perfect and hot and trendy.

This seems like a bizarre criticism to me. Can you give some names of American actors who's teeth are too perfect?

Name one that doesn't have perfect teeth. For one example how about that comedian that rather publically talks about taking her perfectly good teeth and having all caps put in. Kathy on the D List. They are really quite perfect.

As far as perfect teeth, yada yada yada...

I was an air force kid. We lived overseas until I was six and I recall only once visiting a Navy ship to have a tooth pulled. After returning to the U.S. my parents took me to a civilian dentist who must have been one of those 'kick ass dentists' referred to by bs13690. He pulled a couple more big teeth and put in spacers so molars would grow in and not mess up my other teeth. I've rarely seen a dentist since, other than every couple of years for a cleaning... or more like five or so years.

But my teeth have been straight, solid, and white and all mine. Maybe it's the cross breeding that makes them stronger. Maybe it was the home pasteurized milk while living 'over there'.

Generally, the middle class (what is left of it) and up in America have decent dental work. I had an overbite that was corrected by yanking a few teeth and orthodontic work, back when I was a teen. It wasn't unusual even back then.

Steve B. does have messed up teeth. IIRC, Ned Beatty does as well. I probably could think of a few others if I tried. As for the eye candy actors, they are playing fantasy roles in fantasy films.

I find fluorescent white teeth about as big as a turn off as yellow, stained teeth!

Yeah, I find it strange my dentist I have great teeth, but no matter how much I brush, I cannot measure up. Then I walk around looking for people with teeth like that. Not happening.

The perfect teeth is part of the larger whole of perfection. These actors appear to also have flawless skin and make-up, immacuately groomed hair, perfectly fit and trim bodies. I mean, even in the movies when these people appear to live in post-apocalyptic worlds, their make-up is intact and their hair is still in place. In the movies, women go to bed with their make-up on (and really, no woman does that) and the eyeliner isn't even smudged upon awakening. Does anyone really believe this happens in real life? Oops, apparently many do.
