I refuse to watch Bambi or Old Yeller. Never seen 'em, never will. I think it's because of the reputation they have for being so hard to watch!

has anyone seen 'House Of Sand And Fog". Talk about a sad and disturbing flick! Starred the beautiful Jennifer Connlley and Ben Kingsley.

Mooseketeer mentions "Boy in the striped Pajama's". . . ..only movie I've ever seen where grown men were seen weeping in the lobby afterwards. . . .and deserves to be top of the list. Another, for those who found "striped pajama's compelling, is "The Girl in the Cafe". . . .can't remember if this one is subtitled or not, but I think anyone who appreciated striped pajama's would appreciate this one, too.

The final scene in One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest was pretty sad. Watching McMurphy stumble back to his bed after getting zapped and then watching Chief smother him with a pillow was difficult.

Not as difficult for me as it was for Chief to do what he did to/for his best friend.

I saw Old Yeller on TV when I was around 10 years old. That one really got to me. Have never seen The Champ with Ricky Schroder.
Good nominees, but I would nominate Doctor Zhivago.

That scene near the end when Yuri thinks he sees Lara walking down the street and tries to chase her down, only to drop dead of a heart attack...

I would add "Awakening "with Robert Deniro (SP?) and Robin Williams to the list.
I would also add "Brian's Song " with James Caan (Sp?) and Billy Dee Williams.

Old Yeller has the most painful scene in any movie, but the saddest overall for me is Radio Flyer with the child abuse theme.

Sadly, yes, I saw that movie. It was one of the most unnecessary films to have ever been made. Anyone who was "entertained" by that film needs serious counseling.
