Very good list indeed! I skipped the "given" ones like To Kill a Mockingbird and The Shawshank Redemption because they were mentioned already but I forgot about Avatar and Pulp Fiction. Another movie that I always forget to mention is Bicentennial Man (1999) which to me is an awesome sci-fi with a big heart. It makes you think twice about what being a good human being really is or ought to be!

Fast and the Furious? That's brainless, poorly constructed action-automobile pablum. Check out Sam Peckinpah films, Ronin, even the remake of The Italian Job for quality action films with car chases.

That's a great movie for those into psychology, sociology, and criminology.

Well I would pick any movie starring pauly shore. Not that the movies are any good, but after watching his crappy movies dying doesn't seem so bad.
