Good grief, this is the most violent film I've ever seen. BTW, where was Gene Simmons? It was my understanding he was to be in it but I don't recall seeing him and he's not in the film's credits.

Well, you can't say you weren't warned by the title, and that fact that it was based on a fake trailer from Grindhouse. Gene Simmons wasn't in the movie, but perhaps you were thinking of "Wanted Dead or Alive" which also featured Rutger Hauer.

I agree it was over the top in its violence, but it was very much in the spirit of the classic Troma Studios movies. It brought me back to my early teenage years of wandering the aisles of the old independent video stores and picking out movies based solely on cover of the VHS box. I think that's what they were aiming for.
