Smart move, especially since the movies so far this year have been dismal.

I'd prefer Charlie Murphy.

Where has Eddie been? It will be interesting just to see who he is now

Funny, he has been asked that before on interviews. He actually has been in at least one movie practically every year for nearly thirty years. A few have been animated such as shrek, but he definitely has been working quite a bit.

I have always admired Murphy and I think he's an excellent choice to host.

It's a bizarre choice to say the least. Murphy hasn't been big in Hollywood for about 20 years, and he stopped being funny with the last Beverly Hills Cop. He's a children's entertainer.

I loved his stand-up in the 80s, but unless he's been saving some A material for a quarter-century, I'm not holding out a lot of hope for this being successful.

Default Eddie!

Has great charisma, Still does. Yes he's not on top of the world right now. This hosting could re-vitalize things for him again. I grew up on Eddie Murphy..My friends and I used to walk around quoting "Coming to America."

Plus he sang "Party all the time!"

I will watch the awards.
