How could you possibly think of Samuel L. Jackson as boring. I can see not liking him but he is one of the most eccentric actors in the business. Boring is one of the last words I would use to describe him.

For actresses, I'd say Scarlett Johannson. I'm sure some will counterattack that with "but she's hot", though I need more than sheer looks to go on. I find her very wooden and one-dimensional.
I was about to say Scarlett as well. Sure she has her blonde-bombshell looks, so she never looks boring but her acting is just flat in almost everything I've seen her.

Man, I can't believe I'm going to say this but I have to stick up for Nic Cage. His problem isn't his acting, but his personal problems which have apparently forced him to take whatever crap gets tossed his way (he's like the R rated version of Brendan Fraser that way). Yeah, he was terrible in Next, or Knowing, or Ghost Rider or Snake Eyes, and probably 50 other movies, but you have to give the man credit for not only Leaving Las Vegas, but also Raising Arizona, Wild At Heart, Honeymoon in Vegas, Adaptation and even Bad Lieutenant: POCNO. If given the proper freaky material to work with, he's a perfect fit. If given a standard Hollywood snoozer, he comes off as terrible.

I'll give you Josh Hartnett, though. I'm still not convinced he's an actual actor and not just a CGI'd cardboard cutout of a guy with good cheekbones.

How about Michael Cera? I can't understand why he keeps getting roles; he has no charisma at all.

I know. He has a sort of anti-charisma that seems to be popular.

Same! Never saw Pulp Fiction? I still think of him loudly spewing religios texts with his black suit and Jheri Curl! Nothing boring about that.

But I'll add Kevin Costner and Keanu Reeves.

I was just about to add Kevin Costner, you beat me to it

flat monotone voice, and no emotion....probably would be good in a zombie movie!

The Rock, and Keanu Reeves.

Keanu has that laid back surfer mentallity that is popular here on the west coast but it doesnt tranfer well onto the screen. Kind of seems like he is doped up on cold medicine all the time. Mono tone and stoney faced.
