I can't imagine myself disliking a work of art merely because of some publicized character flaw in the artist, such as Charlie Chaplin or Monty Clift or Dick Haymes or Roman Polanski. As for Woody, I never lived in New York, so I never learned to find anything charming or endearing about New York people, and they are mostly simply annoying to me, proportional to how they typify or celebrate New Yorkism..

No doubt!! This is one of Lynch's works I need to watch again. I've watched it twice so far but have yet to grok it in full. lol I am a huge Lynch fan though. He could make a picture about the water in water and I'd be totally mesmerized. I wish he'd make another movie, or Twin Peaks, 20 years later.....

Wow, cool opening for "My Own Private Idaho," always wanted to see it, must go look for it. I think I saw "The Good Girl," most of that clip looks familiar, I think I need to start taking ginkgo or something for my memory.

Speaking of Herzog, a couple of scenes from "Nosferatu" were pretty intense:

NOSFERATU THE VAMPYRE 1979 Pestilence Scene - YouTube

Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht 1979 - 'Blood Lust' - YouTube

Anyone who hasn't seen "Last Year at Marienbad", it's one spellbinding scene after another. There's a complete version on youtube, but it's an Italian dub.
