I forgot Summer Rental with John Candy and Funny Farm with Chevy Chase. The National Lampoon Christmas Vacation is pretty funny.

All three of those have elements that I can identify with in my personal life.

That was indeed funny but from a selection of recent comedies, I would probably pick one of the following:
