[quote=DrummerBoy;22008052]The Shawshank Redemption
Pulp Fiction
Cool Hand Luke
Dr. Zhivago
The Hangover
The Big Lebowski
Lonesome Dove
Platoon
True Grit (the new one)
No Country For Old Men
Local Hero

Shawshank is great, but for me there is a little inconsistency between the dark subject matter and the light and airy way it's treated. It's top 20. Pulp was groundbreaking but let's face it the movie is pretty gratuitous. Top 30 maybe. The Hangover?

Just my opinion. Thought the list was great overall.

10. Bourne Identity
9. The Insider
8. Raising Arizona
7. Good Will Hunting
6. Rain Man
5. Raiders of Lost Ark
4. Risky Business
3. The Mission
2. Platoon
1. Back to the Future

In no particular order...kind of a speed memory thing, I figure if it's not fresh in my memory, than it don't need to be in the top 10...

1. Glory (civil war flick about 54th regiment)

2. The Right Stuff (about the whole Appollo missions to the moon)

3. Rocky 1,2 (Yo Adrian)

4. Revenge of the Sith (Star Wars Episode 3)(ye baby!)

5. Superman 1 (with Christifer Reeves)

6. The Howling (the first and original)

7. Saving Private Ryan

8 Seasons of the Fall (Brad Pitt)

9. Drug Store Cowboy (Matt Dillian)(ye baby!)

10. Starsky and Hutch (the movie)(comedy)

Now you want me to comment on the ones above mine?...wow...you ask a lot...

1. The Godfather...to slow for me...
2. The Godfather II...to slow for me...
3. Pulp Fiction...have only seen short clips of the movie
4. Goodfellas...came close to making my top 10, another day, different mood, it might have...
5. Shawshank Redemption...one of the best movies ever...
6. Reservoir Dogs...never seen it...
7. Scarface...idolized this movie as a youth...
8. Back to the Future...found the theme park ride to be more thrilling than the movie...
9. American History X...Is this the one with Ice Cube in it??
10. Inception...never seen it...

Ok...now where's my pay check...?

many great movies noted, here are 10 favorites that I hadn't seen listed...

1. Citizen Kane (1941) truly an innovative masterpiece that remains an obscure name at the top of many best of lists never to be watched by most people.
2. Dog Day Afternoon (1975) Pacino, John Cazale (5 films: 5 Academy Award Best Picture nominations)
3. The Deer Hunter (1978) DeNiro, Walken
4. Affliction (1997) Nolte, Coburn
5. Miracle (2004) Kurt Russell
6. The Bank Dick (1940) W.C. Fields, great study of bumbling buffoonery
7. To Kill A Mockingbird (1962) Gregory Peck
8. The Graduate (1967) Hoffman, Bancroft
9. Michael Clayton (2007) Clooney, Tom Wilkinson
10. Bounty (1984) Hopkins, Gibson, would watch just for the music score

1. Glory (civil war flick about 54th regiment) - great movie

2. The Right Stuff (about the whole Appollo missions to the moon) - not sure that you saw this one

3. Rocky 1,2 (Yo Adrian) - always worth a watch

4. Revenge of the Sith (Star Wars Episode 3)(ye baby!) - lost interest in the series after awhile

5. Superman 1 (with Christifer Reeves) - not so much

6. The Howling (the first and original) - missed it

7. Saving Private Ryan - would watch again and again and...

8 Seasons of the Fall (Brad Pitt) - Legends of the Fall was true art

9. Drug Store Cowboy (Matt Dillian)(ye baby!) - haven't seen, but like Matt Dillion

10. Starsky and Hutch (the movie)(comedy) - didn't see but I was always confused which one was Starsky tho I did like Daisy Duke.
