Many great movies listed but a greatest "Man" movies list must include Once Upon A Time In The West, the real, greatest western ever made, better characters, story, dialouge and music score than GBU...IMHO

Once Upon A Time in the West is kind of like Sergeant Pepper. I appreciate it more than I enjoy it.
The music, the cinematography, the performances, and even the themes are genius. Still, in all honestly, Once Upon A Time in the West is kinda boring for loooooong stretches. Parts of it are riveting (largely the beginning and the ending). But a lot of the middle really drags.
As art, yes, Once Upon A Time in the West is great.
As entertainment, the "Dollars" trilogy is a far better bang for your buck.

A couple of trivia notes on the opening train depot sequence...
Leone had originally pegged Eastwood, Wallach and Van Cleef to play the welcoming committee for Harmonica but apparently Eastwood had a commitment he could not schedule around.
Al Mulock / "Knuckles" one of the 3 men at the train station, killed himself on location in Spain, the screen writer and production manager witnessed his body pass by their hotel window.
