A lot of the kids films from the 90s that I loved would probably bore me today. Some do stand the test of time. I think some of the McCauly Culkin films seem more boring nowadays. I used to think the Neverending Story was one of the best films ever but I watched it again not long ago and sadly I was a bit bored by it. I prefer to keep my memories, so maybe I shouldn't re-watch my childhood favourites. Disney films never bore me; I enjoy Dumbo, Pinocchio, Cinderella, Jungle Book, Lion King, Aladdin, Little Mermaid was much as I did as a kid. I think Terminator 2 type films are more enjoyable when you're younger but they still entertain today. Maybe the Karate Kid is another one. It was good but not THAT great. One film I remember fondly is the 'Pagemaster', also 'Dinosaurs, We're Back', 'Once upon a Forrest' those slapstick type comedies like Rat-trap. If I were to watch them they'd probably lose their magic. I wonder about the 'Mighty Ducks' too. I'd probably find it cheesy. I haven't gone back to watch most of those childhood favourites.

Also some kid's films seem amazingly short when you re-watch them. Like the Land Before Time, which is still great, seemed like such a long movie when I was a kid. I re-watched it recently and was amazed by how short it actually was!

A Fish Called Wanda.

I wouldn't say "stupid" but certainly nowhere near as funny as I had remembered.

They Died With Their Boots On. Loved it as a youngster and later found out how much fiction there was.

The Machinist. I remembered this being an amazing movie. I recently watched it again and it was so dull I could barely sit through the entire thing.

I loved the Matrix but can't stand it anymore since that effect with the bullets got so old within a few months after it came out.

...and nearly every TV commericial insisting on using that effect, and the "freeze the scene while rotating the camera" effect. Yawn.

I thought Willow was great when I was 10...but I watched it again recently on TV and it was just a ripoff of Lord of the Rings with Val Kilmer swinging swords at everyone and a midget running around with a baby.

I saw Willow again recently and I think it still holds up. One that doesn't quite have the magic it used to for me is The Lion King. It is a good movie still, but my problem is that the sequels and endless merchandise has cheapened it.
