This remake sucked. There was no character development at all. They just ran around Spokane blowing stuff up and the NK's were the incompetent guards looking the wrong way.
What a ridiculous piece of garbage this movie was.
sheesh. I didn't think it was THAT bad. I mean yeah it was cheesy, and predictable...
But I turned this movie on with my expectations low, and I thought it was okay.
I had the same reaction. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The actions scenes were OK even if the premise was just totally ridiculous. At least I was able to make it through the whole movie.
It's marketed towards teenage boys...They probably loved this movie.
When I was a kid the original was a classic...Now it seems cheesy and predictable.
Watched this last night. Unlike the original where the character had a little depth, even the Cuban Colonel was someone you were interested in with his letter home, this remake was garbage. The Chinese...er NK commander did nothing but glare, and it was all explosions, shoot em up and bad acting.

Amen to all of these. I am a first edition fan, even though it had some problems but, it seemed more plausible to me and more believeable characters. If I had bought this DVD, it would have gone in the trash.

They actually came up with a decent reason the NK's were able to sneak in. Something about they having a new type of EM bomb that took out our satelites and defense network. Ridiculous of course but not bad for a movie.
But the rest of it was terrible. Not believable at all and no clear story plot.
