I saw it and liked it but I thought the known actors shown in the trailer would have more screen time and lines such as Cirian Hinds.(who does nothing but give us head shots) Oldman did carry the movie and did well. The ability to electronically eavesdrop did remove much of the critical thought processes from their investigation. I thought there would be more logic tree deduction and Eureka! moments.
I was dissapointed. I thought it was poorly put together and/or edited to make it as confusing as possible. I wasn't the only one in the lobby after saying.."what the hell was that about?". It wouldn't have ruined anything to make it a little more clear.
What was the purpose of the scene where the schoolteacher is in the classroom and he kills the bird?
Also, in the scene where Guillam gets a call from his car mechanic - was that really just his car mechanic or was something else going on?
What was the point of the scenes with the supposedly dead guy and the schoolkid? Was it just showing how he passed his time?
I thought the film was really confusing but I watched it twice and I got it more. The acting is all first-rate.
