Without googling, what are some mistakes/inconsistencies you can think of in films that writers/directors/producers obviously overlooked?
In Ben Hur, there is a scene where the boom mic can be seen. Also there is another where you see a guy dressed in "normal" clothes in the background and NOT in costume.
In Pulp Fiction, at the beginning where Honey Bunny and her dude try to rob the restaurant, she says something like "I'll kill every one of you "blanketyblankers". At the end of the movie, when they show it again, she says "I'll kill every "blanketyblank" one of you". Cracks me up every time.
this is more of an inconsistency than a "mistake" per se...
In the movie Goonies, the character Mouth is able to translate into Spanish, an entire list of (made up) chores that the mom wants the newly hired maid to do, AND translate an ancient map written in spanish: "ye intruders beware" etc.
But at the very end of the movie when the maid finds the jewels and is yelling for the dad to "not sign" the papers that would sell their house, Mouth has significant trouble translating the two words "don't sign."
In the recently-released Hollywood version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo", Daniel Craig talks with a British accent most of the time, while Rooney Mara talks with an authentic Nordic accent, and most other characters also pretty much do their "own thing" without strictly following a Nordic accent at all times, which was absurd because all of them were portraying characters of born and bred Nordic people, this didn't make any sense at all. Another reason I don't like Hollywood remakes of foreign movies, they always find a way to ruin it !!
In Ben Hur, there is a scene where the boom mic can be seen. Also there is another where you see a guy dressed in "normal" clothes in the background and NOT in costume.
When the camera car is in front of the chariots filming the oncoming action, they had someone hold and drag a wide broom-like instrument on the ground to hide the tire marks left by the camera car. It did, but also left visible bristle marks on the dirt. Not really a mistake, as it was the best they could do then.
Rumor was that a stuntman died in the filming of that scene, but has been denied.

in a lot of movies where there are car crash sense, you can tell that the car(s) have had the engines drive trains removed. the movie, Christine is one example.
