Had they been born in the 15th century they probably would have complained about the invention of perspective drawing: “It's nothing but a gimmick!! The artists are using it so they can charge us more for their paintings!! Anyway, it gives me headaches and makes me dizzy and nauseous. I hope it goes away so we can get back to the good old days.”

I wonder what their reactions to the introduction of sound and color to movies would have been.
I understand what you are saying but that is a poor analogy given that 3D does actually make some people nauseous.

Orginally, it was a gimmick to make people spend more money. But can't really call it a gimmick now since it is becoming the norm. Looks like the industry is sticking with 3D this time around. I don't mind so long as it actually adds something to the experience.

No, no, no, no, no, no, NO!! You may as well ask me if I want to have another root canal operation on the the same tooth I had done 10 years ago....NO!!

Maybe you will ask "will you go see the Phantom menace in 3D?" While I love Science Fiction millions o flight years more than romance stories (or whatever Titanic is calssified as), the answer is the same, I mean Jar jar Binks in 3D

The movie was made to be seen on the big screen - I'll be going this weekend.

My absolute favorite.

Titanic was perfectly fine in 2D. I wouldn't mind seeing 2D Titanic in the movie theaters again.

3D does nothing for me, doesn't enhance the film experience, and does nothing other than line the pockets of lazy movie producers who need gimmicks in order to make money.

Bad in the old days (circa 1990s) all Hollywood had to do to make money was make a good movie.

I'll be passing on this one. I didn't like it the first time so I don't need to see it in 3-D. I got tired of the hype the first time around.

Not sure if I'm the only person on this planet, but I NEVER watched it. Not even 5 minutes of it. Has Hollywood run out of material that they have to re-release movies and put them in 3D? My husband went to see Star Wars in 3D and was extremely disappointed. So, unless you're a huge Titanic fan and the 3D effects are noticeable then why not? I just don't like spending the money on 3D when you can't notice the effects.

It is because of the 100 year anniversary and the money.
