"The Stoning of Soyara". Has anyone seen this movie? The only American name was Jim Caviezel. All others were Middle Eastern. It's the story of a woman that was stoned to death according to Sharia Law and was smuggled out of Iran by a jounalist.

I was shocked, furious and cried. If anyone has any questions about what these radical Muslims want to bring (already have) to this country, watch this movie. If you have the guts to take your head out of the sand and see what will happen to this country if Al-Qauida succeeds, watch this movie.

It is a MUST SEE movie IMO. I didn't mean to sound so political in my first post. I am still so used to dealing with the bunch of idiots I used to on another long ago forum that I tend to be very aggressive when dealing with Middle Eastern stuff.

The Stoning of Soraya M. Very good movie and yes very nerve-wrecking. Fact or fiction it takes a lot of mental power to sit through a movie that shows this much cruelty. Also makes you mad about how they treat women. The sad thing is this is warranted by the religion and far too common in Muslim countries, especially rural areas; this is not just a remote, "extremist" situation.

Oh, don't I know that, rony! It's being done here in the US, the latest I heard of was just either last week or the week before. It happens in England. How can these SOBs get away with murder if they are NOT in their own lands?

Misogyny is all over the world, and yes indeed it is often enmeshed in religious practices.

One of the worst aspects of it as that so many women help perpetuate it. Anyone see The Magdalene Sisters?

I saw a few seconds, on film, of a real stoning before I clicked it off.

I've heard of The Stoning of Soraya but can't imagine sitting, my outrage escalating, through two excruciating hours of injustice and torture. Some horrors need not be so painstakingly illustrated. How ironic that Jim Caviezel also starred in the extremely bloody Passion of the Christ.
