Yes, especially terrible Sci Fi and Horror. Oh, SyFy Saturdays, how my son and I bond over nitpicking everything, laughing at terrible special effects, and rewinding "what the heck" death scenes. "The Asylum" movies are the new "Troma" movies.
Just saw Cabin in the Woods and thought it was a spoof/bad movie and I will admit I did enjoy it and was laughing my a&& off throughout. Also enjoyed Zombie Strippers, Crank and Crank II (Jason Statham) and the original Conan the Barbarian (the one with the Governator). So I guess I am guilty of enjoying bad movies after all !!
Esp the old ones-Attack of the killer shrews, Plan 9 from outer space, Mesa of lost women and the more modern ones like Troll 2 and Bad taste and Dead alive.
Also the badly dubbed Kung-fu ones like the one armed boxer. Yes, he takes on various baddies including a ninja with fangs and a mullet. Not kidding!
I like old 80s action movies that always starred porn stars.
There is a box set on Amazon called Girls, Guns and G-Strings or something like that. It includes probably my most favorite movie of all time. Hard Ticket To Hawaii.
Depends. It's got to be 'good' bad. Then there's train-wrecks that are so universally bad in every way -- script, acting, production value -- that they look like a high school project.
Films like Jesse Ventura's Abraxas.
Here's how bad about it -- the best part of the movie by far was Ventura's acting.
A grizzly bear runs amok in a National Park. Precisely where is unspecified, by the terrain is clearly Southern. Yep, not only do we have to accept the idea of a grizzly the size of an elephant, but somehow this survived far from its last remaining western strongholds.
Why is this movie so bad?
*The acting. Some of the more prominent characters are portrayed by locals who were cast in the film. And it shows.
*The special effects. For much of the film, all we see of the bear is a massive forearm just before another victim is victimized. I guess it's cheaper than actually filming an entire bear. Later on the film shows what is obviously a normal-sized grizzly sometimes, other times some clown in a rather cheap bear suit.
*The herd of grizzlies. Yep, the film features dialogue where someone recounts a Native American legend about grizzlies. In passing, reference is made to a 'herd of grizzlies'. Whoever wrote this ridiculous screenplay thought that grizzlies were herd animals. Herd-travelling carnivorous megafauna...
*The ranger tower. Yep, this grizzly is such a bad dude he tears down a ranger tower just to kill the ranger inside.
*But wait! Ranger tower? This bear is just getting started! Next he takes down a helicopter!
*And he's a bullet-proof bear. Immune to bullets. The Terminator of grizzlies. How handy that park rangers pack bazookas... (Oooops! I just gave away the ending!)
Interestingly, a sequel was filmed but never released -- probably much to the relief of then not-yet-famous George Clooney...
I do! I am surprised no one has mentioned The Room yet. That's a must-see for movies in the category of "So bad, it's entertaining". It was supposed to be a serious movie, but ended up like...uhh...this...
